The Opportunity

Cycle Pharmaceuticals is looking for an enthusiastic and talented team player to join its growing Product Launch and Brand Department as a Senior Brand Manager.

This position will grow new and existing pharmaceutical products in the US market. The Senior Brand Manager will develop and execute strategic marketing initiatives that drive revenue and increase profitability, while ensuring compliance with all US regulations and guideline

Job Interactions & Interface:

  • As well as collaborating with your Marketing colleagues, you will interact internally with key business areas in the US, including Sales, Distribution and Market Access, Medical Affairs, Compliance, and Cycle Vita, as well as in the UK with Finance, Legal, Quality, Supply Chain, PMO and Regulatory.
  • Externally, you will interact with HCPs, patients, suppliers, patient organizations and other partners (Specialty Pharmacies, food companies, etc.), as necessitated by the strategic and tactical objectives.

The Cambridge team is relatively small but highly dynamic, and the work environment is representative of an expanding company, hence requiring an adaptive and pragmatic mindset. Coaching and mentoring to support continuous learning and professional development will be provided and tailored to individual needs.

These three areas of focus are underpinned by formulation technology – using new drug delivery technologies to improve the efficacy and effectiveness of drugs, allowing us to give patients greater freedom and choice.

Position Summary: This is a full-time position within the Product Launch and Brand department, working in our Cambridge office.

What you will be doing

Individual Accountability
• Lead on developing, executing and refining the brand strategy for new and existing products, including brand positioning, messaging platform and customer segmentation to grow brand awareness and market share.
• Use your expert understanding to oversee the execution of brand initiatives, materials and events/conferences developed by the Marketing team, ensuring these activities are delivered in-line with the relevant brand strategy, expected KPIs and ROI.
• Acquire market intelligence from internal and external sources and utilize insights to develop actionable initiatives which align with the brand strategy.
• Closely collaborate with colleagues to grow and maintain internal relationships with the Sales and Cycle Vita teams to facilitate a continuous, multi-directional feedback loop and troubleshoot brand and department delivery challenges; and external relationships with HCPs, patients, patient advocacy groups and other relevant suppliers to ensure timely delivery of assigned deliverables.
• Use your expert understanding to utilize and analyse data, such as that contained within our CRM, to discover behaviours, trends and actions which feed into the brand strategy.
• Responsible for ensuring projects are on budget, delivered according to the agreed plan and any discrepancies are reported to the Line Manager.
• Take a lead role in delivering marketing initiatives which can be measured on a communications and business level, to assess return on investment.
• Ensure and lead on the training of the Sales team to ensure brands are represented in line with the brand strategy.
• Ensure compliance with all US regulations and guidelines for the promotion of medicines including HIPAA and FDA guidelines, and applicable laws, to ensure that initiatives and materials are compliant and produced in accordance with all US rules, regulations, applicable laws, and requirements agreed with Cycle’s partners.
• Provide regular reports and updates to your Line Manager on the progress and impact of marketing initiatives, materials, events/conferences etc. demonstrating a high degree of project management capability.

Departmental Responsibilities
• Contributes to the discussion and creation of the annual budget, identifying spend and potential savings for the year ahead.
• Define and seek approval for the operational planning that implements the department strategy.
• Take responsibility for representing and communicating the department strategy and priorities on cross functional project teams, inputting into discussions on budget and timelines, and ensure wider audience is aware of assigned actions.
• Act as a role model for management attributes, demonstrating focus, flexibility and creativity, and create an environment in which people are encouraged and able to model these behaviours.
• Attend team meetings and engage with internal and external stakeholders, of which you will act as a primary contact for, providing support and subject leadership as required.
• Maintain knowledge of relevant guidance (in particular US-FDA focused) and provide advice on key requirements for development activities.
• Develop and improve the procedures and processes used by the department, identifying problem areas, proposing and implementing robust solutions in order to improve efficiency and consistency.
• Take on a wider mentoring role for junior members of the department and wider business.

• Scientific or Marketing degree, Masters or similar including relevant industry experience. Broad scientific knowledge, with a desire for continuous expansion and learning ability.
• Strong business-to-business marketing experience.

• Strong project management capabilities.
• Excellent written and oral communication.

The following skills and experience would be an advantage to this role:
• Basic understanding of Metabolic, Neurology and Immunology therapeutic areas along with a willingness to develop in-depth expertise.
• Track record of working with global, cross-cultural teams.
• Marketing qualification, MBA or relevant industry experience.
• Experience utilising project management tools such as Microsoft Projects and Asana.
